International admissions

International applications are submitted through the university's online application portal and evaluated by the International Office, which checks documents and refers complete files to an Assessment Commission. Eligibility rests on nationality rules plus a country-by-country table of accepted diplomas and examinations with minimum scores; applicants holding none of the listed exam results may apply on their high school diploma and transcript alone. Accepted applicants receive an offer (invitation) letter and must transfer a USD 1,000 pre-payment before the official acceptance letter is issued, after which they arrange their own student visa. The FAQ states that bachelor's degree applications are accepted for the fall semester only, while the spring (February) intake is open to graduate degrees.

• Copy of high school diploma (or, for final-year students, an official document signifying completion of high school)
• Official high school transcript plus any national or internationally recognised test results; documents must be translated if not in English or Turkish
• Passport and its notarised Turkish translation
• Motivational letter in English (the FAQ states this is compulsory only for Medicine applications)
• A qualifying diploma/exam result per the country-by-country Academic Requirements table, e.g. SAT minimum 500 out of 1000 in Math, ACT minimum 21, GCE A level at least two courses in a related field, IB minimum 28 diploma grade, Gaokao 450 out of 700, German Abitur 4 out of 5, French Baccalauréat high school graduation grade at least 12; applicants holding none of the listed results may apply with high school diploma and transcripts
• USD 1,000 pre-payment after the offer (invitation) letter, deducted from tuition and non-refundable unless a documented visa rejection from the relevant Turkish embassy or consulate is shown
• High School Equivalency Certificate at registration (registration can be completed without it against a signed commitment to supply it later)
• One photograph taken within the last six months at registration
• Health report for applicants to sports, civil aviation and underwater technology departments; comprehensive insurance for underwater technology applicants
• Residence permit copy at registration (registration can be completed without it against a signed commitment)
• Not eligible as international students: Turkish citizens who completed secondary education in Turkey or the TRNC, TRNC citizens (with stated GCE A-level exceptions), and the further dual-citizenship categories set out on the entry-requirements page
